Some days the world before us is filled with such exquisite beauty that it's impossible to take it all in, and other days something shifts and it all seems to go awry. As in in art, the darkness only intensifies the light, making it seem that much brighter, but while in those moments of darkness it's easy to lose sight of that.
"An Existence" pays homage to life in all of it's beauty and pain, the relentlessness of the passage of time and the drive to reproduce, repeating the cycle of life, love, and death.
The forget-me-knots indicate our desire to live on in the memories of others. The sparrow represents our urge to fly free, escaping the bonds forged by our own hands. The delicate flowers represent the fragility of life itself.
We silence ourselves, not giving voice to our hopes and desires.
The goal is to live and not simply exist. This is a reminder.
